About Windermere Farms
Windermere Farms is a berry farm on State Highway 3 a few minutes north of Whanganui, on the road toward New Plymouth, with over 50 years of berry growing behind it. Visitors can pick their own strawberries and raspberries through the summer season, roughly December to March, with exact picking days announced through the season. A farm shop and cafe on site serves berry pancakes and fresh fruit ice cream made with the farm's own produce, and the shop also sells jams, wines and honey. Alpacas kept on the property can be fed by visitors, which makes the farm a popular family stop alongside the berry picking. Picking days depend on the crop and weather, so visitors should check the farm's Facebook page for the current open days before travelling.
