About Sweet Red
Sweet Red is a third generation strawberry farm at Helensville, north west of Auckland, owned and operated by the Marinovic family since 1974. The farm grows Ventana and Camarosa strawberries across around forty hectares, with twenty fields set aside for pick-your-own each season. Picking runs from Boxing Day to the end of January, charged by the kilo with no separate entry fee. A family area with vintage tractors sits alongside the fields, and the farm also produces real strawberry ice cream, smoothies and milkshakes from its own fruit. Sweet Red describes itself as the largest individual strawberry producer in the Southern Hemisphere, and also sells through a farm shop at Westgate.
